The Museum of Prehistory of the Vercors,
a centre for experimental archaeology ...
The main goals of the museum's guides are to welcome visitors and to share their knowledge and experience with them. They offer activities for everyone throughout the year – for individuals, families, and school groups, giving an unforgettable experience.
A warm welcome and a long lasting memory
The visit includes the permanent exhibition (6 thematic sequences with explanation panels, objects to handle and videos), an audiovisual presentation, a visit to the flint floor itself and a demonstration of flint knapping. There's a game for children as they make their way round the museum – a worksheet “On the tracks of Leo” to fill in - which will earn them a certificate!
- Self-guided visits for individuals or groups
- Visits accompanied by a guide for groups of 15+ people – reservation needed
Workshops: Learning age-old skills
Workshops for children. During the school year, a variety of activities with different learning goals are offered to school groups, by the day or over longer periods.
- Summer workshops for the whole family. You’ll be given an introduction to prehistoric skills: making fire, hunting, tools and prehistoric art.
Events for everyone
The museum offers a year-round programme of events open to everyone – all for the price of an entry ticket and with a drink thrown in! The wide-ranging cultural programme takes place in an atmospheric place spot charged with over 4,000 years of history.
